2013 Single Vineyard Shiraz / 6 bottles
Released September 2015
Continuing the tradition of vineyard-driven wine, the 2013 Single Vineyard Shiraz is the most significant in a decade. The 2013 season was notable for hot early January conditions, however good December rains and a mild lead into an early harvest on 27 February were ideal.
A small parcel of fruit was carefully selected and matured in new and old French oak for 14 months, consistent with the B&T form.
A balanced wine full of chocolate, mulberry, clove and woody spice. An unusual Clare style resulting from the vineyard being planted at 450m. An excellent food wine which goes well with mild and full flavoured cheese, as well as veal, beef and lamb dishes. Cellared carefully it will develop complexity until 2030.
